Dynamically Append Model Casts with mergeCasts()

Use mergeCasts() to dynamically append attribute casting rules to Eloquent model instances or inside reusable model traits.

When developing reusable model traits or packages, hardcoding cast definitions in the host model's protected function casts(): array can be brittle.

Eloquent provides mergeCasts() to dynamically append cast definitions at runtime without overwriting existing casts.

1. Usage Inside Reusable Model Traits

The canonical use case for mergeCasts() is inside trait initialization hooks (initialize{TraitName}):
